Kindergarten News
For
Reading we will begin the story The
Little Engine That Could by Watty Piper.
It is a classic fantasy story, and we will be talking about how trains
move. We will be learning more about
short /u/ sound and the comprehension skill, plot. Watch for your new Family Times newsletter on Monday.
**United
States’ reports will begin on Monday, April 8th! **Check the date on the top of your child’s
report pages and be sure to have him/her practice presenting the facts to you
at home. It will be fun to learn
about many of our Fifty, Nifty United States!
In
Math, we will continue with Unit 7 Time,
Data and Measurement. Review daily practice pages and practice
addition and subtraction.
The PTO Basket Raffle will be held at
NSE on Saturday, April 27th and Sunday, April 28th. Donations
are DUE ASAP. So far we
have one monetary donation and a box of a few crafts, two art canvases and
paint, a 3-in-1 game, a 1000-piece puzzle, a water balloon set, cans of spray
chalk for outdoors, a Guess Who? Game, Don’t Rock the Boat Game, UNO, A Pac Man
game, 3 DVDs (The Little Rascals, The Lorax, and Ice Age), microwave popcorn
and White Cheddar seasoning. (If a family would rather not shop for a donation,
monetary donations will be accepted and Mrs. Potts will shop for items for the
basket.) There is no value set and you
can be creative!! **Please refer to
the blue note sent home with suggestions and ideas. **STUDENTS WHO BRING A DONATION WILL RECEIVE
A FREE SPARTAN DRESS DOWN DAY ON FRIDAY, APRIL 26th. Thank
you again for your donations!!!
Report cards for the 3rd
Marking Period will be sent home on Wednesday, April 10th. Please
sign and return just the envelope. If you have any questions and/or concerns,
contact Mrs. Potts.
Friday,
April 12th will be our monthly Spartan Dress Down day. Boys and
girls can dress down (Spartan shirt, jeans, sweats, or shorts) with a $1.00
donation.
Monday,
April 8th will be Day 1 – Computers. **Don’t
forget sneakers and gym attire on Thursday, April 11th!
