For Reading we will begin the story
The Little Engine That Could by Watty
Piper. It is a classic fantasy story,
and we will be talking about how trains move.
We will be learning more about short /u/ sound and the comprehension
skill, plot. Watch for your new Family Times newsletter on Monday.
In Math, we will finish Topic 9
Composing and Decomposing Numbers 4-10, and begin Topic 10 Composing Numbers
11-19. Practice making numbers 4-19 and
continue to review addition and subtraction.
**Review, sign and return Topic 9
test when enclosed.
Monday, April 9th will
be the monthly PTO Meeting @ 6:30 PM in the cafeteria. **All are
invited and encouraged to attend!!
Students in Grades 3-6 will be
taking the PSSA tests next week.
Kindergarten’s schedule will be switched around T-TH, 4/10-4/12. Special classes will be 9:00-9:40 instead of
1:50-2:30. Please talk to your child
about being quiet while in the hallways during testing days!!
The NSE Community Movie Night will be held Friday, April 13th
@ 7:00 PM in the High School Auditorium.
The PTO Basket Raffle will be held at
NSE on Saturday, April 14th and Sunday, April 15th. Our
class’ basket/bin is “A Night With the Family”.
Be sure to take a chance or more on winning! Remember
the Kindergarten class with the most tickets gets an Ice Cream party!! (**A list of items in our basket/bin will be
sent home this week. Thank you again for your donations!!!
NSE
PTO is selling 2017-2018 yearbooks. The cost is $21. If interested in ordering, please submit a
completed form and payment no later than Monday, April 16th. (checks
made payable to NSE PTO)
**Congratulations to all students who successfully completed their
United States’ reports! It was a fun and
educational way to learn about some of the “Fifty Nifty United States”. **Thank
you to all the parents who helped “prepare” the boys and girls for their second
oral report.
The NSE ART SHOW will be held on Tuesday, April 24th @
4:00-6:00 PM and the NSE
SCIENCE FAIR (6th grade
projects) will be held on Tuesday, April 24th and Wednesday,
April 25th @ 4:00-6:00 PM.
Kindergarten Graduation Pictures will be
taken on Thursday, April 26th. (There
will be NO make-up picture day.) **Envelopes with portrait package
information will be sent home soon. **All students will be photographed and will need a WHITE COLLARED
shirt to wear under a graduation gown.
** Kindergarten Graduation will be
held on Tuesday, May 22nd @ 1:00 PM in the high
school auditorium.
FYI: Students, who had completed the at home reader challenge during Newspaper in Education Week in
March, had their names published in the Tuesday, April 3rd edition
of the Republican Herald.
