Kindergarten News

**This week in Phonics we will be working on the consonant letter Mm and its sound as in monkey and mom. We will have Show & Tell so please follow the classroom schedule. Practice new Word List #2 and review, sign, and return Word List #1. Have your child read the Decodable Reader #1, Hot, Hot, Hot! for practice.

**We will continue with the story Life in an Ocean in Reading. Practice the high frequency words; have, is, little, I, a, am, the, and to.

**In Math we will be working on Chapter 4: Numbers 6-10. Keep practicing counting sets and identifying and writing numbers correctly.

**Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Tuesday, November 10th and Thursday, November 12th. Please check your scheduled date and time and try to be prompt. Be prepared with any questions/concerns you may have for the teacher. Anyone who wanted a conference, or who has not received confirmation of a conference, needs to contact the teacher as soon as possible.

**On Friday, November 13th there will be a Bully Prevention Kick-Off Program in the gym. Take some time to talk to your child about bullying and to discuss what he/she learned at the program.

**Report cards were distributed on Friday, November 6th. Please review your child’s report card with him/her and sign and return it as soon as possible.

**Since the colder weather is upon us, please be sure your child has a warmer jacket, mittens or gloves, and a hat (which can be kept in cubbies or backpacks) so that when we go out for our 35 minute recess the students are prepared for any changes in temperature or for the lengthy time outside. We try to get outside whenever possible—if dressed properly, the fresh air does us good!!!

Monday, November 9th is Day 6 – Library book exchange. Be sure to pack your library book in your backpack!
