Kindergarten News

This week we will be learning Tt as in tent, tail, and tie. Take some time to find items at home that begin with the letter Tt sound for Show and Tell! Also, boys and girls are asked to learn their telephone numbers. Please practice at home!

Our theme for the upcoming weeks will be Fire Safety. We have many activities planned to teach the students about fire safety such as; videos, stories, and art projects. Don’t forget to ask your child what he/she has learned about fire safety!

We will finish Chapter 2: Patterns in Math. Try to find patterns around your home. Students should even try making patterns with colors, shapes, and objects. Some ideas include using buttons, Lego blocks, fruit loops, m&m’s, skittles, etc… Review papers sent home for a test on Thursday, October 8th.

The Kindergarten Fall Festival will be held at the school on Thursday, October 15th with a rain date of Friday, October 16th. Parent and grandparent volunteers who have the necessary clearances are welcome and needed to help the homeroom moms with this fun-filled day! Please contact your child’s teacher and show proof of updated clearances, and we will be glad to have you join in the festivities!!! **Don’t forget we are collecting $2 per child to cover the costs of Fall Festival!

Monday, Oct. 5th is Day 1 on our special classes’ schedule. Tuesday boys and girls will need sneakers for gym class!

Just a reminder: Scholastic book orders and money are due on Friday, Oct. 9th for anyone interested in ordering this month.
