Kindergarten News

**(Blue) “Sign Out” sheets for Kindergarten Graduation are due back by Monday, May 13^th.

**All library books will need to be returned on Thursday, May 16^th.  The library is now closed for borrowing new books.

         For Reading we will continue Unit 6 with the story Building Beavers.  We will discuss Main Idea and review the short vowels, focusing on short /e/. 

            For Math, we will begin Unit 9 Base Ten and review.    **Unit 8 tests should be reviewed, signed and returned when they are enclosed in RETURN.

            NSE will be having a Scholastic Book Fair from Mon, May 13-Friday, May 17.  Students will be able to shop at school and there will also be a Parent Shopping Night on Monday, May 13^th from 4-7 pm.  **Our class also will have time to shop in school during our scheduled Library class on Thursday, May 16^th from 1:50-2:10. Please note that due to a change in PA state laws we will now need to charge tax on all book fair sales, be sure to send in extra for tax!!

            Friday, May 24^th will be the last day for our “AR/Book Buddies”.  Treats will be given for 15+ books recorded on the monthly recording sheet.  **Thank you for your participation and support!  I am SO proud of how well the boys and girls are reading!!!

            Boys and girls will be tested for their DIBELS Math test on Thursday, May 16^th.  Be sure to review and practice:  comparing and counting sets, number identification fluency 0-100, and next number fluency.

            Friday, May 17^th will be a paid Spartan dress down day.  Students can dress in jeans or sweats with a Spartan shirt for $1.

            Kindergarten graduation information and tickets will be sent home next Friday, May 24^th.  **Please check your child’s folder!!

Monday, May 27^h – NO SCHOOL/Memorial Day

Tuesday, May 28^th – Kindergarten Graduation @ 1:00pm in the HS Auditorium

Friday, May 31^st – Carnival Day @ NSE

Tuesday, June 4^th – Last day of school/ Early dismissal
