February AR/Book Buddy recording sheets were enclosed 2/4. If you haven’t already
returned your January recording sheet, please do so ASAP. Thanks!
The next PTO meeting will be
held on Monday, February 4th @ 6:30 in the NSE cafeteria. All are
invited and encouraged to attend!
The 100th day will now be on Wednesday,
February 6th! Students
are asked to dress as if they were 100 years old! **Sneakers
are needed for gym, but may be packed in backpacks if your child is dressing
for the 100th day!
Scholastic book orders for the
month of February are due by Wednesday, 2/6 for anyone interested in ordering.
FYI: Due to
snow days, Friday, Feb. 15th will be our Valentine’s Day party
from 1:30-3:00pm. **Please note the change! Students
NEED to bring valentines on or before 2/15.
(A class Valentine’s list
was sent home today, 2/4.) **Approved parent helpers will report to
the office before 1:30.
For Reading we will continue with the story Rooster’s
Off to See the World and then read the story, My Lucky Day, by Keiko
Kasza. It is an animal fantasy (fiction)
story and we will focus on the comprehension skill cause and effect. We will
review the /l/ sound and connect it with the letter Ll. Watch for your new Family Times newsletter! **Also, don’t forget to practice your high
frequency sight word flashcards!!
In Math we will finish with Unit 3: Comparing and
Ordering numbers to 20. Practice
counting to 100 by 1s, 5s, and 10s and writing numbers 0-20. Please review daily work mats/lessons.
Teeth-brushing charts will be
due back at the start of March. Any
student who returns his/her chart will receive a “dental health” treat from
Mrs. Potts. Remember to continue to eat
healthy foods, brush and floss your teeth, and visit a dentist at least once a
year to keep your smile looking great!
Monday, February 4th will be Day 2—Music on the special classes’
schedule. Students will need sneakers
on Wednesday, 2/6 for Physical Education Day 4. (Remember if
school is cancelled due to inclement weather the special class schedule is
bumped to the next school day.)
