Week of December 30-January 3, 2014

Kindergarten News 

·      January 2^nd and 3^rd will be Show and Tell letter Kk, for the Thurs./Friday students.   **Word List #8 will be tested the following Thursday, January 9^th or Friday, January 10^th.   Please practice daily! 

·      For Reading we will not begin a new story until the week of January 6^th.  Please continue to practice blending letter sounds to read 2,3, & 4 letter words and practice high frequency sight words.

·      For Math we will begin Topic 6; Counting to 100.  We will be counting to 100 by 1’s and 10’s!  Continue to practice counting sets to 20 and identifying the numbers 0-20.

            School will be closed from December 21^st through January 1^st.  We will be back to school on Thursday, January 2, 2014.  **Take some time over the long holiday to review and practice Phonics, Handwriting, and Math.  It is also a great time to read together with your child and maybe even take the opportunity to let him/her “show off” his/her reading skills to visiting relatives!!

            Thursday, January 2^nd will be Day 5 on the special classes schedule.  Students will need gym attire and sneakers.

            We hope you like all the things we’ve made for the holidays:  “My Little Ten Point” reindeer, personalized stockings, plates for Santa, and especially our thumbprint reindeer ornaments.
