  • This week in Phonics we will learn the digraph ck as in duck. Show & Tell can be any item that has the digraph ck as part of the word (for example; truck, black, chicken, etc…). Please follow your classroom schedule.
  • For Reading we will finish the story, If You Could Go to Antarctica. We will introduce the next story titled, Abuela by Arthur Dorros. It will be a fiction story about a city adventure. We will focus on the comprehension skill setting and will review the sound of /e/. Watch for your new Family Times newsletter!
  • In Math, we will be moving on with Chapter 11: Addition. Discuss with your child what skills he/she is learning and for extra practice review completed work sent home each day. Practice joining two sets of objects to find out “how many in all”.
  • Thursday, Aprill 22nd is Earth day. Earth day is a day to remember to take care of our planet by keeping it clean. We will be talking about the environment to prepare for this special day. We will discuss the important rule that tells us to “reduce, reuse, and recycle” and how following this rule can make a difference! Perhaps as a family you could plan a special project in your neighborhood!
  • Kindergarten graduation pictures will be taken in the morning Tuesday, April 20th Envelopes were sent home with portrait package information.( If you lost your information- it will be posted on Mrs. Potts’ homework helpline blog or call Mrs. Potts for details.) If interested in purchasing pictures, then please return the money before or on the day of pictures. **Each child will be photographed as part of a class photo even if a package is not purchased, so please plan on your child wearing a WHITE COLLARED SHIRT and girls, no hairstyles on top of your heads because you will be wearing graduation caps and gowns! Girls will be wearing red gowns w/ blue hats and boys will be wearing blue gowns with red hats.

*If you do NOT wish to purchase pictures, please send a note stating that so the teacher knows your child just didn’t forget to bring the envelope/money. Thank you!!!
