Kindergarten News

There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, May 28^th due to the Memorial Day holiday.  School will reopen on Tuesday, May 29^th.

Friday, May 25^th (tomorrow) will be the PTO Carnival.  This is a day of fun and games put together by the PTO.  Please dress your child for the weather and APPLY SUNSCREEN.  Students should wear socks (NEEDED for Bounce houses), sneakers and clothing for outdoor activities (NO dresses or skirts please—dress code approved gym attire preferred!)  PTO volunteers attending are asked to park in the lower level of the high school parking lot.  **Lunch for Carnival will be “HOT DOGS”.   There will be NO ALTERNATES.  School lunches will be delivered to the classroom and all students will be eating there.

            The teachers hope everyone enjoyed our Kindergarten Graduation.  We are all so proud of the graduating class.  The ceremony was the perfect ending to our Kindergarten school year at NSE.  Thanks to all who attended!

            On Wednesday, May 30^th in the PM, Kindergarten will be treated to ice cream sundaes by Chill Out!!  YUM!!!!

            On Thursday, May 31^st librarians from the Ringtown, Ashland, and Frackville Public Libraries will visit to read a story to the Kindergarten students.  They also will discuss information about their summer programs.  Take some time to discuss their visit with your child and check out the summer programs at the town libraries!

            **Friday, June 1^st will be the Kindergarten Wedding of Q and U!  The wedding will join two letters that will be making a new sound together.  They will be joined in a union that cannot be broken.  The wedding will take place in the gymnasium, reception following.  The girls and boys can dress up.  The students will take part in many of the traditional roles of people at a wedding.  **Watch for a detailed note sent home on Tuesday, 5/29.

            Tuesday, June 5^th will be the last day of school.  Students will receive report cards on the last day.  **All library books will need to be returned or paid for and all lunch accounts are to be balanced ASAP.

            **Students are to continue to bring their folders and backpacks daily -- including the last day of school.  Be sure to check backpacks and folders often and empty as needed.

Tuesday, May 29^th will be Day 7- Music.  **Boys and girls will need gym attire and sneakers on Day 9--Thursday, May 31^st.
