Kindergarten
News
The next story for Reading is Little Quack by Lauren
Thompson. It will be an animal
fantasy story. The comprehension
skill we will target is plot, or the
“what happens part of the story”.
We will be learning the consonant letter Rr and its sound /r/ as in
rabbit and reindeer. Watch for the
new Family Times newsletter in your
child’s folder! Practice high frequency sight words daily!
In Math, we will finish Topic 4, review, and test comparing and
ordering numbers 0-10 and will begin working with Numbers to 20 for Topic 5.
Wednesday,
December 14th will be our monthly 2- hour data delay.
It will be a NON-Rotation day (no
special classes).

Students
will need to be prepared for colder weather @ recess. Warm coats, gloves
or mittens, hats and/or scarves are needed. Recess
is a half an hour and unless the ground is snow-covered or it is too
cold we will try to get outside for “fresh-air”.
Kindergarten will be having a “Polar
Express” day on Friday, December 23rd.
Students are asked to wear their pajamas to school to dress like the
characters in the book. **Hot chocolate and cookies will be provided
for snack! There will be an

December
AR “Book Buddy” recording sheets will be due January 3rd.
The goal for the month is 15 books. Keep up the great work and Keep
Reading!!
There have been some
dress code concerns and questions, so, to clear up any misunderstandings with
the dress code a “what is accepted” and “what is not accepted” note will be
coming home with your child. **The main issues have been with yoga
pants/leggings being worn for gym class or as pants, and “colored”
dresses/skirts for girls.
Please read carefully and be sure to dress your child accordingly.
**Thank you to Leandra Edmondson, Chase’s mom and mail carrier,
for visiting and mailing our letters to Santa on Friday, Dec. 2nd. Also, thanks for the treat
bags!! J
