Math we will continue to Compare and Order numbers 0-10. Review the daily practice pages with
your child!
~We
will be reading the story Little Panda by Joanne Ryder. This is an informational text, and we
will be talking about “Animals Grow and Change”. The comprehension skill we will target is compare and contrast and we will work
with the letter sounds of /n/ and /b/.
Watch for the new Family Times
newsletter in your child’s folder! Many boys and girls may be interested in checking the live
Panda Cam at the San Diego Zoo from home at the following website: http://www.sandiegozoo.org/pandacam/ Practice
high frequency sight words—especially the newly added cards! (Our first report cards will be coming
up at the end of January!!)
Just a few reminders
and dates to mark on your calendars:
*”Bowl for
Kids Sake” donation pledge envelopes were due back to school by Friday,
December 5th.
*Mrs. Hull
will visit the class on Monday, December 8th from 9:00-9:30 for her
monthly guidance lesson. Be sure
to ask your child what he/she learned and/or discussed!
*December
Scholastic book orders and money are due on Tuesday, December 9th. Make
note to Mrs. Potts if any orders are gifts for Christmas!
*Please remind your child to keep up with
his/her schoolwork and behavior and keep in mind that Santa is watching and waiting to hear daily updates from Max, our elf
on the shelf Naughty-Nice reporter!!
*Students
will need to be prepared for colder weather @ recess. Warm coats, gloves or mittens, hats and/or scarves are
needed. Recess is a half an hour
and unless the ground is snow-covered or it is too cold we will try to get outside for “fresh-air”.
*The NSE Red Band Concert will be held in the
H.S. Auditorium @ 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10th. The NSE 4.5 & 6 Grade Chorus
Concert will be held in the H.S. Auditorium @ 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16th. All
are invited to attend!!!
*Students will travel to the H.S. on Friday
morning, 12/12, to hear the band and chorus perform. Fa La La La La, La La La La!
*December AR “Book Buddy” recording sheets will be due January
5th. The goal for
the month is 16 books. Congratulations to all the boys and girls
who met the goal for November!! Keep up the great work and Keep Reading!! J
Monday, December 8th
is Day 3 – Library. **Remember
to pack library books for Library Class & Book Exchange on Monday, 12/8 and
wear sneakers and gym attire on Wednesday, 12/10.
