Kindergarten News
This
week in Phonics we will learn the digraph ck
as in duck. There will be NO Show and Tell! Word List 21 will be tested on Thursday, April 17th.
For Reading we will
begin the story Mayday! Mayday! By
author Chris L. Demarest. It is an informational text and we will
be talking about emergency transportation. We will practice the comprehension skill cause and effect
and review the letter Xx and its sound /ks/. A new Family Times
newsletter will be sent home on Monday.
Take time to practice sight word flashcards!!!
In
Math, we will
be decomposing numbers 11-19 with Topic 11. Continue to review the daily workmats and practice addition
and subtraction.
An Easter egg hunt
will be held on Wednesday, April 16th. The boys and girls will be looking for eggs with the word “here”
printed on the outside. Be sure to
review this word with your child!
There will be NO
school for students or teachers on Friday, April 18th. Happy Easter!
Even though spring has arrived,
we do have several weeks of school remaining. Students need to try and stay focused on their schoolwork
and continue to do their best!
Just a few reminders:

The PTO Gertrude Hawk Fundraiser Pickup was scheduled for Friday, April
11th from 4-7 pm @ the NSE gymnasium.

The Spring Fling Chinese Auction was held over the weekend, Sat. 4/12 –
Shop & Drop 10:30-5:00 and Sun. 4/13- Auction 12:00-5:00 (prizes drawn at
3:00) @ the NS High School Cafeteria.

Monthly PTO Meeting—Monday, 4/14 @ 6:30 in the NSE cafeteria
FYI: Parents interested in being a chaperone on the Kindergarten
Field Trip to the Pioneer Tunnel, Wednesday, May 28th (rain date
Thurs. 5/29) need to meet the PTO requirements as stated in the bi-laws. **Those who are eligible and interested
in being a chaperone should contact Mrs. Potts!
Monday, April 14th will be
Day 1 on the special classes’ schedule. **Students
will need library books for exchange on Wednesday, April 16th. (We will return to our regular schedule
for special classes, lunch, recess, and snack, beginning on Monday, 4/14. YEAH!!!)
