This week in Phonics we will be reviewing long vowel sounds: /a/ as in acorn; /e/
as in equal; /i/ as in icicle; /o/ as in overalls; and /u/ as in unicorn and also
learn the digraph ck as in
duck. There will be NO Show
& Tell. **Word List 21 test will be Friday, April 5th. Please practice daily!

For Reading we will start a new story
titled, On the Move! It is an informational text by author
Donna Latham. We will work with
the letter sounds /v/ and /z/ and the comprehension skill, main idea. Watch for
your new Family Times newsletter and
have your child practice the Words to Read!

In Math we will continue to use tangrams
and explore slides, turns, and flips. We will work on identifying largest and
smallest shapes and cover half of a shape, will practice paying for items using
pennies, nickels, dimes, or a quarter, and will identify doubles and matching
sets. Take some time to review the daily practice worksheets!!

REMINDER: Kindergarten Graduation Pictures will
be taken on Thursday, April 4th. (There
will be NO make-up picture day.) Envelopes
were sent home with portrait package information. If interested in
purchasing pictures then please return
the money before Spring/ Easter break or on the day before pictures, Wednesday,
April 3rd. (Cash or checks made payable to P.S.P) **All students will be photographed
for the class photo and will need a WHITE COLLARED shirt to wear under a
graduation gown. Girls should
not have ponytails high on their heads or wear big hair accessories since they
will be wearing a graduation cap!
**If you do NOT wish to purchase pictures, please send a
note stating that, so the teacher knows your child just didn’t forget to bring
the envelope/money.

Report cards were sent home on Thursday,
March 28th.
Parents are asked to sign and return the report cards as soon as
possible. If there are any
questions or concerns and/or a conference is requested, then please contact the
teacher.

There will be NO school for students
Friday, March 29th, Monday, April 1st, and Tuesday, April
2nd. School will reopen (for Teachers Only on Tuesday, April 2nd
and) for Students on Wednesday, April
3rd.

Tiffany M. and Sasha D. for filling eggs for the egg hunt. The teachers will be hiding the eggs
for a Kindergarten egg hunt on Thursday afternoon. It will be Egg-citing!!!
Wednesday, April 3rd will be Day 4 on the special
classes’ schedule and boys and girls
will need library books for exchange.
