Kindergarten News
~This
week we will be working on the letter Dd
as in dog and dinosaur. There
will be NO Show and Tell, but in its place we will be giving our dinosaur
reports. Please follow your
classroom schedule and the date written at the top of the information
sheet! **Details and information about the reports were sent home in your
child’s folder on Thursday, 2/7. Word List 15 will be tested on Tuesday,
February 19th. Please
practice daily!
~For
Reading we will continue Unit 4 with the classic traditional tale, Goldilocks and the Three Bears as
retold by Valeri Gorbachev. We
will review the comprehension skill, character
and the letter sound /g/. Watch for your new Family Times newsletter!
**Also, don’t forget to practice
your high frequency sight word flashcards!!
~In
Math we will be practice ABC patterns, solve a problem by “Guessing and
Checking”, identify nickels, trade 5 pennies for a nickel, count by 5’s, and
count nickels to 25 cents. Boys
and girls will practice writing the numbers 1-20 correctly too. Take some time at home to review the
coins penny, nickel, and dime and the
values of each.
~On
Friday, February 15th and Monday, February 18th there
will be NO SCHOOL for students due to a scheduled ACT 80 day and Presidents’
Day. Enjoy the long weekend and take some time to work on your
dinosaur reports!
~This week is Anti-Bully Week! Students are asked to participate in
daily activities.

~Wednesday,
February 13th will be “Jump
Rope for Heart” day at NSE.
**This will be a NO Rotation day for the special classes.
Students should wear sneakers!! Any donation/sponsors should
be turned in no later than Thursday, February 14th.
~On Thursday, February 14th we will
be having our Valentine’s party from 1:40-3:00. Valentines will be
“delivered” at the party, so be sure to bring them by Thursday!
Monday, February 11th
will be Day 3 on the special classes’ schedule. Students will need Library books for Tuesday, February 12th
so be sure to pack library books for exchange!!
~Toothbrush charts will be due back at the start of March. Any student who returns his/her chart
will receive a “dental health” treat from Mrs. Potts. Remember to continue to eat healthy foods, brush and floss
your teeth, and visit a dentist at least once a year to keep your smile looking
great!
