Kindergarten News

This week in Phonics we will begin the consonant letter Bb as in
balloon and boy. Please practice making 2,3, and 4 letter words using just the
letters: l, o, g, h, t, p, a, n, m, i, s,
f, r, and b. There will be NO show and tell until
after the holidays! **Word
List #8 will be tested on Thursday, December 20th so please practice
daily!

For Reading we will read the story See
How We Grow by Katacha Diaz. The
skill cause and effect will be
introduced along with the /d/ sound.

For Math we will practice counting to 100 by 10’s and introduce the
coin, dime. We will work more with
patterns, AB & ABB, and practice counting with pennies.

Family and Friends are invited to attend the
Christmas Concert, which will be held Monday, December 17th at 9:30 in the
North Schuylkill High School Auditorium. Kindergarteners have been
practicing their songs and are very excited to share them with you! Students
are expected to wear dress code approved clothes OR NICER! Girls may wear
Christmas dresses, skirts, etc. Boys can wear shirts, ties, Christmas sweaters,
etc. NO GYM CLOTHES! **Please note
that our class will be standing on the far RIGHT side of the stage.

Students will meet with their 4th grade Reading buddies on Monday,
December 17th to give their buddies a special photo card and goodie
box of Hershey Hugs & Kisses for Christmas.

Rumor has it that Santa may also be visiting Kindergarten on Monday,
December 17th! Please
remember to be on your best behavior!!!

Friday, December 21st will be our Polar Express day.
Students may dress like the characters in the book and wear their
pajamas to school. Robes and/or
slippers may be brought along too!
(Just be sure to wear coats and
shoes/sneakers to school!!)
All Aboard!! Students will have lunch at 9:15-9:45 and will attend
their special class (Music) from 12:00-12:30. Dismissal will be @ 1:00 for students. There will be NO breakfast served and
NO snack needed.

Birthday to William Horning! He
celebrated his birthday on Tuesday, December 11th.
Monday, December 17th will be
Day 1 on the special classes schedule. Students will need gym attire and sneakers on Tuesday,
December 18th and Library books for exchange on Thursday, December 20th.
