Kindergarten News
· This week we will be
learning the consonant letter Pp as
in pig, pink, and pumpkin. We
will have Show & Tell for the letter Pp
so take a peek around your house and pick something to share with the class. Please
follow the schedule! We will also
end the week with a Pep Rally in the
gym for our homecoming game on Friday, October 5th.
(**A Pajama party will be held the following Friday, October 12th. Details will be sent home in your next
newsletter.)
· We have finished the
story Julius and will begin the story
Dig, Dig, Digging in Reading. We will be talking about how machines
help people. We will be practicing
the sound /t/ and the skill classifying and categorizing. Watch for the new Family Times newsletter and continue to review the high frequency
words; I, am, the, little, to, and a when your read together.
· For Math we will be
creating and reading an AB color pattern, acting out story problems using teddy
bear counters, identifying ordinal position to fourth, and will be covering
designs using pattern blocks.
Continue to review the daily math practice pages as well.
· Our Theme for the week
will be Fire Safety to prepare for Fire Prevention Week -- October 7-13. Please take some time at home to
discuss fire safety with your child and family. Be sure to have a practice fire drill, create an escape plan
with a designated meeting place, and Be Cool About Fire Safety!
· October Scholastic book
orders will be due on Tuesday, October 9th for anyone interested in
ordering this month.
· Starting Monday, October
1st there will be a change to the bus dismissal schedule and
procedure. The lower parking lot
loop will now be utilized in addition to the upper loop for bus dismissal. There will only be 2 rounds at 3:20 and
3:25 instead of 3 rounds. Please
DO NOT park along the sidewalk of the lower loop, which will be marked with
yellow paint, at any time during
dismissal including when the walkers/parent pick-ups are dismissed. **This
will not apply to the morning drop-off procedure.
· Anyone who has not yet
turned in FALL FESTIVAL MONEY --$3, is asked to try and send it in AS SOON AS
POSSIBLE. The parents who are
planning the FALL FESTIVAL will need to shop for supplies and goodies. **Our
Fall Festival will be held on Thursday, October 11th.
· Just a reminder: The deadline for donations for The
Children’s Book Drive is Friday, October 5th. All donations should be suitable for
children up to 12 years old. Books
should be deposited in the boxes at the entrance to the cafeteria. Only books in good condition will be
accepted. Thank you for your
help!!
