
Kindergarten News
- On Monday, April 2nd we will be performing a wedding for Q and U! The girls and boys can dress as if they were going to a real wedding. The students will take part in many of the traditional roles of people at a wedding. A reception will follow complete with cake for snack!
- This week in Phonics we will be reviewing the letters and sounds of all the vowels and consonants and the phonics rules learned so far this school year. Please take some time to practice at home too! **Word List 20 will not be tested until after the Easter break on either Thurs., April 12th or Friday, April 13th.
- For Reading we will begin the story The Little Engine That Could by Watty Piper. It is a classic fantasy story, and we will be talking about how trains move. We will be learning about short /u/ sound and the comprehension skill, plot. Watch for your new Family Times newsletter!
- In Math we will continue to use tangrams and explore slides, turns, and flips. We will be working with pennies, nickels, dimes, and a quarter. Take some time to review the daily practice worksheets!
- We will have “Easter Egg Show & Tell” on Tuesday, April 3rd. With the Easter holiday coming next week, students’ show and tell can be anything they can fit into a plastic Easter egg. Eggs were sent home with your child on Wednesday. Boys and girls should be prepared to give clues for the class to guess, “what’s inside” the eggs!
- The Easter egg hunt and party will be held on Wednesday, April 4th from 9:30 to 11:00am. (Homeroom helpers may arrive at 9:00 to help hide eggs and set up for the party.)
- There will be NO school for teachers and students Thurs., April 5th, Friday, April 6th, Monday, April 9th, Tuesday, April 10th, and Wednesday, April 11th. School will reopen on Thursday, April 12th. Enjoy the long spring break!!
*When we return from the holiday break on Thursday, April 12th, we will be on Day 4 of the special classes’ rotation schedule. Students will need library books!
