Kindergarten News**This week we will be learning about the consonant letter Yy and its sound as in yarn and yellow. Please continue practicing writing and identifying all the letters we have learned so far. We will be having Show and Tell and may even have a yogurt taste test. Yum! Yum!
Word List 13 will be tested on Thursday, February 16th. Practice daily!!! (**Note the change from Friday, Feb. 17th due to the ACT 80 day and No school for students.)
**For Reading our next story will be “One Little Mouse!” by Dori Chaconas. It will be a rhyming/concept story and we will review the comprehension
skill, sequence. We will introduce consonant blends too. Look for the new Family Times newsletter in your child’s folder.
**In Math we will be copying
line segments, shapes, and designs on a Geoboard, ordering objects by length and measuring length using nonstandard units, making an ABC pattern using pattern
blocks, and acting out some stories using teddy bear counters. Please review daily practice pages at home.
our Troops. We our now finished collecting and our Valentine’s Day Project is coming to its end. Please do not send any more coupons to school. An extra BIG Thank-You to Jackie Kadziela, for initiating the project and especially for, all her hard work in cutting and preparing the coupons for mailing. It was quite a time consuming job!!!
**On Tuesday,
February 14th we will be having our Valentine’s party from 11:30-1:00. Valentines will be “delivered” at the party, so be sure to bring them by Tuesday!
**Just a reminder: PTO, Gertrude Hawk Fundraiser is extended until Feb. 17th.
Monday, February 13th will be Day 3 – computers.
Library book exchange will be Tues., Feb. 14th so be sure to pack your books.
