Kindergarten News
~This week we will be working on the letter Dd as in dog and dinosaur. There will be NO Show and Tell, but in its place we will be giving our dinosaur reports. Please follow your classroom schedule! **Details and information about the reports were sent home in your child’s folder earlier in the week. Word List 14 will be tested on Friday, February 24th. Please practice daily!
~For Reading we will continue Unit 4 with the classic traditional tale, Goldilocks and the Three Bears as retold by Valeri Gorbachev. We will review the comprehension skill, character and the letter sound /g/. Watch for your new Family Times newsletter!
~In Math we will be practice ABC patterns, solve a problem by “Guessing and Checking”, identify nickels, trade 5 pennies for a nickel, count by 5’s, and count nickels to 25 cents. Boys and girls will practice writing the numbers 1-20 correctly too. Take some time at home to review the coins penny, nickel, and dime and the values of each.
~On Monday, February 20th there will be NO SCHOOL for students. Enjoy the long weekend and take some time to work on your dinosaur reports! School will reopen on Tuesday, February 21st and it will be Day 2 on the special classes’ rotation schedule. **Students will need gym attire & sneakers on Tuesday and library books on Thursday
~Thank you to the homeroom moms for helping with the Valentine’s Day classroom party on Tuesday! Students had a LOVE-ly time. It was SWEET of you to volunteer! XOXO
~Toothbrush charts will be due back at the start of March. Any student who returns his/her chart will receive a “dental health” treat from Mrs. Potts. Remember to continue to eat healthy foods, brush and floss your teeth, and visit a dentist at least once a year to keep your smile looking great!
