Kindergarten News
- This week we will be working on the letter Ww and its sound as in wagon and watermelon. Review identifying and writing letters learned. Also practice blending letters in three, four, and five letter words. We will have Show & Tell so please follow the schedule. **Word List 18 will be tested on Thursday, March 24th. Practice daily!
- To go along with our letter Ww, we will have Wacky Hair Day on Friday, March 25th. Start thinking about a wacky hairstyle for the day. Remember boys and girls with short hair can always wear WIGS—they are wacky too!!!
- Wednesday, March 23rd will be WATERY WEDNESDAY. We will be talking about water and completing different experiments involving water throughout the day. It will be WONDERFUL!
- For Reading we will begin an informational text titled If You Could Go to Antarctica, by author Fay Robinson. We will practice the comprehension skill classify and categorize. Please practice the new high frequency words here, go and from.
- Our Kindergarten class has begun a study of wood and paper for Science. We have been looking at the properties of wood and paper and have been writing in a Science notebook about what we have observed so far. Take some time to discuss with your child what he or she has learned!
- Kindergarten graduation pictures will be taken in the morning Thursday, April 7th. Envelopes are being sent home with portrait package information. If interested in purchasing pictures then please return the money before or on the day of pictures. **Each child will be photographed as part of a class photo even if a package is not purchased, so please plan on your child wearing a WHITE COLLARED SHIRT and girls, no hairstyles on top of your heads because you will be wearing graduation caps and gowns!
- FYI: (Mark your calendars!) Kindergarten Graduation will be held on Monday, May 23rd in the evening at the High School Auditorium. Details will be sent home at a much later date.
Monday, March 21st is Day 3—Gym Class, so be sure to wear sneakers and gym attire. Library books will be needed on Thursday, March 24th.
