Kindergarten News
In Phonics this week we will be finishing the letter Cc and will be learning the vowel letter Ee with its short sound as in elephant and egg and its long sound as in equal and eagle. We will be focusing on the short vowel sound. We will NOT have Show and Tell! **Word List 12 will be tested on Thursday, February 10th. Practice daily!!!
For Reading we will finish the story, Seeds, by Ken Robbins. We will continue to work on the comprehension skill “draw conclusion” and will review the short /o/ sound in words. Be sure to keep practicing high-frequency words, especially the two new words: they, of, and you.
In Math we will continue working with dimes and counting by 10’s to 100. We will compare lengths; shorter and longer, and order objects by length. We will practice writing the numbers 11-16 correctly. *Review daily practice pages @ home.
Sunday, February 6th is Super Bowl Sunday- - Are you ready for some football? Will the Green Bay Packers win or will the Pittsburgh Steelers be the champs???
Monday, February 7th will be Day 2. Boys and girls will need gym attire and sneakers on Tuesday, Feb. 8th, Day 3. (Don’t forget library books on Thursday, Feb. 10th!)
This week is Anti-Bully Week! Students are asked to participate in daily activities as well as the week long ones. If you DO NOT give your child permission to view the programs, then be sure to complete the form sent home with the information sheet on Thursday.

Wednesday, Feb. 9 – Wear miss-matched clothes or crazy hair Thursday, Feb. 10 – Wear Green

On Monday, February 14th we will be having our Valentine’s party. Valentines may be sent in anytime during the upcoming week. They will be delivered at the party on next Monday!
Scholastic book orders for the month of February are due on Thursday, February 10th for anyone interested in ordering.
**Don’t forget to brush and floss your teeth at least 2 times a day! Your smile is counting on you!!!
