Kindergarten News

·This week in Phonics we will be reviewing all letters and letter sounds learned so far. We will try our first Spelling Test! Please practice making 2,3, and 4 letter words using just these letters. There will be NO show and tell due to the short school week.

· For Reading, we will continue with our new story A Bed for the Winter. Have your child read The Pig story to you and practice the high frequency words: he, for, is, little, and a.

· In Math we will continue working on Chapter 6: Numbers 10-30. Please practice counting numbers and sets, review using ten frames, and identifying and writing numbers, especially eleven, twelve, thirteen, and fifteen.

· On Tuesday, December 22nd the Kindergarten classes will be watching the movie Polar Express as a special treat for Christmas. Students may dress like the characters in the movie and wear their pajamas to school. Robes and/or slippers may be brought along too! (Just be sure to wear coats and shoes/sneakers to school!!!) **This will be Day 2 so sneakers will be needed

for gym class as well.

· The classroom Christmas party will be held on Wednesday, December 23rd from 1:30-3:00pm. This will be our last school day before the holiday break!

Please remind your child to keep up with his/her schoolwork and behavior. With the excitement of the holiday approaching, students need to remember school is NOT finished yet and Santa is watching!

Thank you for your support.
